Selecting freeform regions
Previous  Top  Next

When a rectangular selection is not quite what you are looking for - for example, when you want to select a face out of the photo and apply an effect to it, or select an area and fill it with color afterwards, you can use the freeform selecting feature in VCW VicMan's Photo Editor . This feature is implemented in the Lasso tool available on the toolbar window.

lasso To select a freeform area within an image, choose the "Lasso" button in the toolbar window, click on the editing window and, holding your left mouse button, move the mouse cursor on the image to form a selected area. When you release your mouse button, the region border will automatically snap its ends to form a closed area.

To select multiple regions, hold the "Shift" key down as you select the second and all the next areas. You can then work with all selected areas simultaneously.
